Our Government has hurt us.

I posted a few years ago about how we need to stop asking for bigger government or more government solutions.

To expand on that. We have all seen how our society has changed financially from the 1950s. 

We use to more easily have a single family income and still afford a quality life. 

We have all seen more often than not, unless you can earn over 100k. Which is not most jobs, most families need a dual income just to get by.

Government has constantly increased taxes over the past 70 years. Like the story of increasing the water for the lobsters. 

We have our income taxes that go up a little year over year. Then we have our sales taxes and other taxes on products.  Then when we buy a house we have property taxes that you have to pay yearly. Those go up on the assumed worth of your property on a yearly basis. So many taxes. You are taxed over 50% of your income when you add it all up. So you make 100k a year. The government nickle and dimes you down to 50k pretty quick. 

But it's not just taxes that have hurt us. It's politicians paying games with us the American people as pawns. 

Our international policy has made us a bully world wide. Often getting us into conflicts that never needed to happen. We send foreign aid to other countries. Some say it's just money those countries are supposed to spend with American companies. But honestly most of it is just funneling tax payer dollars back into politicians pockets and the 1% that keep funding those politicians. It's a ponzi scheme. One that the American people pay into thinking we should get something back. 

The so called Elites think they have every right to control the American people. They play dirty political games. This is not just left or right or Republican and Democrats. Both play the game by invoking fear in the American people. 

They talk about how they other party wants to take something away from you or wants to force you into doing something.  They encourage us to fight with each other. They destroy hope with their drive for more power. That power destroys the American dream and the power of the individual.

Examples for both sides. Row Vs Wade and Then the great gun debates. Both make the argument that the other side wants a complete Wipeout of either abortion of guns.  There even are some people that truly say they want that. But ultimately politicians stoke the fears of their party members so that they can get elected into office. 

But just like Row vs Wade. That was never actually a law. It's was a court ruling. The politicians never made it an official law. They only used it as a scare tactic for votes.

But the American people truly are mostly middle of the road on most of these topics. Studies have actually shown we generally agree on most topics and even the ones that are the most publicly controversial.

It's generally the 1% fringe elements on both sides that politicians point out and use to scare their base. That pulls us apart as a people and causes unseccary conflict. 

So our politicians both domestically and internationally cause conflict because of their egos that search for power. 

Because of that, many social issues have been pushed and have bleed into society. Many of these have not only divided us politically. But also divided men and women. It's has hurt our relationships. Marriage has not become desirable to many. How men and women see each other is often not in a good light. We often see the other as only a prize to win or competition to beat. We have a hard time seeing each other as human. 

But that leads into another downfall and now another social issues caused by political neglect. That is the mental health issue that has become so prevalent in today's society. We all feel stressed and beaten down by one thing or another. We want to look for inspiration. But often what we find is politicians pointing fingers. Then we have had an influx of therapist that are counter productive at their jobs. They keep clients for decades on what should have been a 1 year treatment. 

Studies have shown that even with students. Since they started brining in therapist.  Suicide rates have gone up. That more shows a failed system than anything else. 

We are not a happier nation since we started depending on therapy. 

All this leads to the point that bigger government and more government "fixes" just causes pain and poverty. 

Yes we need government for basic things. But beyond basics, government is just a leach on society. It enables the have nots to get rich and have un earned power. It's allows ego to run things and not logic. It leads us down bad paths.
